Our local casino has been going through major renovations and one of the recent changes was turning the old English style pub into a Hamptons style restaurant and outdoor area, with multiple bars, called the Garden Kitchen & Bar. In addition to a Veuve Clicquot Airstream popup bar on the lawn, recently we discovered there is also a smoked BBQ area taking inspirations from southern style BBQ out of 3 regions of the USA. Having been to multiple areas of the south, and even owning a smoker at home, we had to check it out and compare. The food was good, not quite the same as what you would get in Texas, and a bit pricey too, but we enjoyed it all the same. If anything it probably tastes a bit healthier and just needs one or two extra sides to make it more worthwhile.
It was a warm spring day so I wore this lace dress and bright flats. I've been wearing this a lot and I love how it looks like a designer dress, but at a more affordable price point. Donnah even asked me if it was one of my special dresses (aka designer brands). I included another way I styled it and you can easily dress it up or down if you need -the collar doesn't make it a casual only option. Also, as most of you know by now, I like to give my dresses 'buffet tests' and this one passes :) The Garden Kitchen & Bar is a great place to come and luckily in Queensland, the weather lets you enjoy it all year round.
*The buffet test is whether my chosen outfit allows me to eat at an all-you-can-eat buffet while still being able to sit comfortably and breathe; also while eating like a savage ;p
