Over the last 5 years or so, the Gold Coast food scene has dramatically changed for the better. When Pacific Fair finished major renovations, unveiling a whole new dinning experience, we couldn’t wait to check it out. The original food court was left with all the standard fast food options and extra dinning areas were added, now called The Patio, The Resort, and The Boulevard.
It’s not Australian culture to eat at restaurants in shopping centres, rather get a quick bite to eat, so it was a refreshing change to see what was on offer; while the hope that it would work out. Comuna Cantina is a Latin street food inspired Mexican restaurant located in the resort section. Shortly after it opened we tried it out for lunch, we loved it and raved about it to friends and family! The new look of the shopping centre is really something special and with all the places we have travelled, think it’s the best designed shopping centre in the world.
On Saturday night we went again, this time around for dinner to try more food options, it was really quiet so we didn’t have to wait long for the food at all. There were a few negatives throughout the night and you will find some dishes a bit overpriced, but overall it’s a great place to have drinks before going out. I definitely want to make my way through the cocktail list :) Also, if you aren’t close to the Gold Coast there is a Brisbane location too.
These Chicken bites are a no-brainer and a great starter option!
I'm already a fan of burgers so I expect them to amazing! This burger did live up to my expectations and the sauces complimented the whole burger, not overpowering it like a lot do.
This above picture is from our first visit and considered it to be great value. The below picture is from our second visit, but the portion size is less and priced more.
I love the idea of this and eating it all :) The menu states that it comes with just two sauces, but considering the portion size and cost, I would expect it to come with four like it did.
Side note: it seems to be a bit windy in that spot, you will need a jacket if the wind is a bit crisp.
