Bobbi Brown Mini Long-Wear Cream Shadow Trio
I can’t believe it’s so close to Christmas!! Eeek!! I got this little trio of cream shadows last year as special holiday edition, but I've noticed throughout the year most brands bring back gift packs. So I'm reviewing these anyway, especially when you come across them in this year's holiday range or something similar, or even the regular versions, you can decide better on whether to include them in your makeup stash :) a girl’s gotta have her go-to products ;-p #ihavewaytoomuchmakeupsaidnogirlever
I did a lot of Christmas gift purchasing from Mecca last year and of course, included a few for myself…giggles.
Amongst the self gifting were the Mini Long-Wear Cream Shadow Trio from Bobbi Brown. At first I thought the price was a bit high for 3 mini items, especially when Australians always have to pay more for overseas brands. But, I’ve noticed from other purchases over time that mini’s have quite a few pros…. Yes I justify everything :p... They are great space savers and perfect to test out new colours/products without forking out the full price version. They also last just as long (you might lose it or throw it out thinking you've had it too long and it’s past the estimated shelf life); So when looking at these kind of sets I always work out cost per item compared to the full sized product. There’s a fair bit of analysis ticking over in my brain when I buy makeup; with that being said, with a higher-end brand this is good value.
The Low Down:
The pack came in 3 colours: Smokey Topaz, Pink Sparkle, Espresso Bean (order of swatches in the image on the left). They glide on easily (trust me, some feel like chalk and potentially creating eye lid wrinkles from all the stabbing in getting the to product to apply) and feel very creamy and light. This is perfect go-to shadow for those who are time poor or just want something simple to do the job as you are racing out the door; but they are also the perfect colours to create a smokey effect blending in the darkest at the corner of your eyes. I’ve combined two (any combo) to make a super quick smokey eye with just my fingers.
They definitely don’t crease after you let them set… but a good few hours later I tried to see if you can reapply to make it more intense, but it a gave it a cakey look so build up the desired intensity when you first apply it and then you can leave it.
