A Disney Challenge

A Disney Challenge

My sister isn’t the most athletic person I know, her version of hiking shoes were loafers, I’m not joking, I still laugh at how proud she was of her purchase, luckily her fiancé just rolls his eyes and now supervises all her athletic purchases. She would rather perfect spreadsheets than her inner core strength and flexibility, so, it came to great surprise when I’m being informed of a full marathon that Disney World hold every year, the 20th Anniversary in fact, and thought it would be cool to do; I replied blankly, you know you have to run right?!

Not entirely convinced, I brushed it off as a fleeting whim, I then, however, saw some legit evidence of how serious this is, a book on how to train for a marathon read from cover to cover…. Hmmmm…. But it wasn’t until one Saturday morning at an ungodly hour, me sleeping on her pull out couch and in no hurry to wake, that it sealed the deal; movement prompted me to peek out from a slightly opened eye that lead to witnessing her stretching and in full gym gear. I thought I was still dreaming. I on the other hand love to workout and find it therapeutic; with it often being mentioned that I look like Nike sponsors me with my getup. Lol. Clearly the only option is to join her on this quest ;p, I’ve even bought a new sports bra, now that’s commitment.

It’s quite a torturous experience, buying a sports bra, so to save the torment I shall fill you in and say look no further than Berlei. Pick the ultimate performance sports bra, its expensive so you may need to wait for sales, but you can’t put a price on perky boobs and free from tissue damage. No ladies, flirting at the gym with boobs out on display as you strategically make hair flicks, asking “ Like, oooh my gosh, can you please spot me”, to the guy admiring his muscles in the mirror, is not going to get you far, it will leave you with regret… STRAP THEM DOWN!! The Australian Institute of Sport have tested, used and approved; it reduces bounce by over a 60% and has a SF 4 (support factor).

While the training is in progression, iPod loaded up with language tapes to multitask and brush up on my LOTE skills -check, we are toying with the option of maybe doing the Hawaii marathon instead…. Hmmm… it’s cheaper which means more money for awesome shopping and another cool place we want to see and explore…. Decisions…. Decisions…

Either way looking forward to all the hard work paying off, achieving another goal and creating another memorable experience; of course one that’s laced with shopping hehe ;)

See you at the finishing line :)

xo be inspired and find the motivation that works for you
